encouraged by many people who have seen his
work, he began to produce paintings to be offered to the public. Inspired by
other Florida artists his
artwork has earned awards and many accolades from other artists and art
critics. Stephen's artwork has been displayed in galleries, restaurants, and other public forums. He now offers his paintings to the public direct via his website: www.mcwillgallery.com. He continues to work, developing new ideas and scenes through research and study of surrounding flora and fauna and hopes to generate new enthusiasm with each painting he completes.

Artist Statement
Growing up in South
Florida, I was always intrigued by the natural subtropical look of the glades,
seashore and sunsets of South Florida. This beauty inspired me to put the
images I remember, on canvas in such a way to preserve the beauty and serenity
of a land rapidly changing.. It is my goal as an artist to convey the scenes I remember so vividly. I want to create a place of peace and natural harmony for the viewer. My desire is to influence the imagination of those viewing my pieces that takes them to a simpler, quieter, reflective place.
I believe that now, more than ever, we need to be surrounded by things that produce peace in our souls. Hopefully, my artwork will take you to that special place.
